While I love a great family portrait beach session, I absolutely love shooting Chicago North Shore beach locations in September!
Try scheduling your session in early to mid September. The weather is still warm, but you avoid the hot humid weather of the summer months.
You can still get the “summer beach vibe”, but keep the family comfortable.
In addition, as we move away from those hot summer days, the beach going crowds will diminish, creating a more private experience.
My favorite time to suggest a family portrait session on the beach is mid week, about an hour before sunset.
