Chicago North Shore Rebrand Spotlight: Brand Photography for Jill Lawlor Creative
When my talented friend and long-time collaborator Jill Lawlor of Jill Lawlor Creative decided it was time to rebrand her business, I was thrilled to be part of her process and support her behind the camera.
As a brand identity designer, Jill helps small businesses create strategic, polished visual identities that reflect their values and attract the right clients. So when it came time for her own rebrand, she knew how important it was that her images feel aligned with her work, and with who she is.
We created her session in my studio, which offered the clean, minimal backdrop she was looking for. Jill wanted imagery that was clear and professional, but with a touch of warmth and personality, nothing too styled or overly “cool.” Her goal? To appear relaxed, approachable, and real.
Through lighting, styling, and natural posing, we were able to reflect exactly that. The resulting images feel fresh and modern, but never stark or impersonal. They show Jill just as she is: thoughtful, grounded, and quietly confident.
Photography plays a key role in rebranding. It gives your audience a first impression and a lasting connection. For Jill, the photos help convey not just what she does, but how she does it: with care, clarity, and strategy.
A rebrand isn’t just about a new look. It’s about telling your story in a more aligned, intentional way. And strong visuals are a big part of that.
If you’re rebranding, don’t underestimate the power of photography in helping people not only see your business, but feel it. If you’re looking for help developing your brand identity from the ground up, Jill is an incredible resource. We often collaborate to support clients through both design and photography, ensuring a cohesive, professional final look that truly reflects your brand.
